The students assembled at the campus of Bharath Institute of Law at 07:00 am. The Faculty Mr. Yuvan Shankar, Mrs. Arulmozhi, Ms. kokila, and Ms. Sona Sri accompanied the students. Each faculty was assigned with 20 students and they collected undertakings and marked attendance for those 20 allotted students.
After the attendance, The Dean waved the green flag marking the start and with that the bus started by 08:30 am. By 10:30 am the students and faculty reached the Prison. From 10:30 am till 11:00 am checking and verification was done by the prison authorities.
By 11:00 am students were taken inside the prison and here they witnessed the convicts. Students were also taken to different cells and including A Class Prison. Authorities explained about High Security Prison and the purpose of the same. Students were also taken to different places where prisoners are engaged in works and were explained about their work nature, time and wages. They also had an opportunity to witness the Gallows and the police officer explained in detail the full procedure carried out during the execution of the death penalty.
After visiting Central Prison I, the students were distributed with water bottles and snacks. After the small break students were taken to central prison II.
By 12:30 pm after all the procedures the students were taken to Central Prison II and here students observed undertrial prisoners. First the authorities took the group to the auditorium and library and explained the purpose of these facilities available for the prisoners. Then the students were taken to different cells and were explained about the same. After that the students were taken to kitchen and the hospitals working inside the prison. Students also had the opportunity to witness the place where investigation parade is conducted and the visiting room.
By 02:00 pm after visiting central prison I & II students were given a break for 45 minutes before visiting a special prison for women.
After lunch students were taken to special prison for women by 03:00 pm. A police officer took all the students for a walk and explained about each block. Girl students and female faculty were alone permitted to observe the cells of the convicted. Also, the police explained to the group about the children grown with the convicted mothers and the policies available for them by the government.
After witnessing all the three prisons, the students along with the faculty coordinator left from Puzhal by 04:00 pm and reached the college premises by 05:30 pm. The faculty coordinator reported to the Dean and HoD.
