Disciplinary Committee

At Bharath Institute of Law, discipline is regarded as a cornerstone of academic excellence and professional development. The Disciplinary Committee functions as the primary body responsible for ensuring a safe, respectful, and conducive learning environment. It upholds the institutional values of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct among students, faculty, and staff.

Objectives
  • To maintain discipline and enforce the code of conduct within the institution.
  • To address issues of indiscipline, misconduct, or violations of institutional norms.
  • To ensure fair inquiry and resolution of complaints in accordance with the principles of natural justice.
  • To create awareness about acceptable behavior, institutional values, and legal ethics.
Functions of the Committee
  • Verbal or physical abuse
  • Teasing, bullying, or harassment of juniors by seniors
  • Forceful activities meant to cause embarrassment or discomfort
  • Any act that affects the dignity of a student
Jurisdiction

The Disciplinary Committee is empowered to take action on the following:

  • Acts of academic dishonesty, including plagiarism and cheating
  • Ragging, harassment, or discriminatory behavior
  • Willful damage to college property
  • Misuse of ICT resources or college infrastructure
  • Disruption of institutional activities and violation of college rules

Reporting Misconduct

Complaints or incidents of misconduct can be formally reported to the Disciplinary Committee through the Dean’s Office or by submitting a written grievance. All reports are handled with strict confidentiality and processed in accordance with institutional procedures.
