As the nation observed National Vigilance Week, the students of III Year LLB (Hons.), Bharath Institute of Law, had the valuable opportunity to undertake an educational visit to the Income Tax Department, Chennai Wing, on 29th October 2025.
The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into the functioning of the Income Tax Department, its role in promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical governance—core values aligned with the spirit of National Vigilance Week. Students interacted with officials who shared their experiences on maintaining integrity in public administration and combating corruption through vigilance mechanisms.
A special address was delivered by the Commissioner of Income Tax, who highlighted the importance of ethical responsibility and vigilance in governance. This was followed by an insightful lecture by the Commissioners of the Income Tax Department, who elaborated on the procedures, challenges, and reforms within the tax administration system.
This enriching experience not only enhanced the students’ understanding of the taxation system but also reinforced the importance of honesty, accountability, and ethical conduct in professional life.
