The Bharath Institute of Law proudly announces the successful completion of an enriching internship by four of our first-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) students at the Tamil Nadu State Information Commission, Chennai. Held between 21st July and 5th August 2025, this internship offered our students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the implementation of the Right to Information Act, 2005 and observe the functioning of a constitutional body dedicated to transparency and accountability in governance.
The students who undertook this prestigious internship were Likitha Manju Shree. S, Hepshiba. B, Husna Fathima. M, and Ganesh Chandran. R. Throughout the internship, they were actively involved in understanding the procedural aspects of the Commission, including the registration and hearing of RTI appeals, drafting of legal responses, and interacting with key officials and legal experts. Their experience helped bridge the gap between academic knowledge and administrative realities, contributing significantly to their early legal training.
This program was effectively coordinated by Mrs. Azimathul Marshiya. M, Assistant Professor of Law from Placement Committee, who guided the students with academic insight and professional mentorship. Her supervision ensured that the students not only observed but also critically engaged with the working of the Right to Information framework.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Tamil Nadu State Information Commission for their continued support and for facilitating a valuable learning environment for our students. Opportunities such as these help shape competent, socially responsible legal professionals and reflect the commitment of Bharath Institute of Law towards experiential legal education.
