Mrs. Srividhya Srinivasan, Deputy Director of the Forensic Department of Tamil Nadu, was warmly welcomed by HOD Nageswara Rao, Mr. Yuvan, and Ms. Sophia, faculty members for the Forensic Workshop held on 17th May 2024 at Bharath Institute of Law. The event was an enriching experience, with Mrs. Srividhya sharing her expertise in forensic science, enhancing the students' understanding of its significance in the legal field.

Mrs. Srividhya Srinivasan, Deputy Director of the Forensic Department, elaborated on a range of essential topics during the forensic workshop at Bharath Institute of Law. She began by introducing forensic principles and emphasizing the importance of crime scene investigation techniques. The workshop focused on critical aspects such as evidence collection, preservation, and forensic analysis methods. Practical demonstrations, including fingerprint analysis, DNA testing, and ballistics, gave participants hands-on experience. She also addressed the legal aspects of forensic evidence, explored real-life case studies, and highlighted ethical considerations, offering valuable insights into the role of forensic experts in the criminal justice system.

Mrs. Srividhya Srinivasan also elaborated on key legal frameworks that intersect with forensic science during the workshop. She discussed the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, highlighting its role in regulating drug-related crimes and the importance of forensic analysis in identifying controlled substances. She further explained the Information Technology (IT) Act, focusing on cybercrime investigations and digital evidence analysis. The session also covered the Arms Act, detailing the forensic aspects of firearm identification and ballistic testing. Mrs. Srinivasan addressed the Explosives Act, emphasizing forensic techniques in investigating explosive materials and incidents. Additionally, she discussed the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, underscoring the forensic approaches to handling evidence in cases of child sexual abuse, ensuring both legal compliance and the protection of victims.
