Bharath Institute of Law proudly announces the participation and remarkable achievement of its faculty–student research team at the 62nd Annual Convention of Chemists & International Conference on “Net Zero Goal & Sustainability: Role of Chemical Sciences in Green Energy, Circular Economy, and Prosperity of India”, organised by the Indian Chemical Society in association with the Madras Christian College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, held from 18th to 20th December 2025.
Mrs. D. Rechal Epziba, Assistant Professor (Law), along with Mr. A. John Joseph, III Year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) student, jointly presented a research paper titled “Intellectual Property Rights and Sustainable Chemical Technologies: Legal Pathways for India’s Net Zero Mission.” The paper critically examined the role of Intellectual Property Rights, particularly patents and innovation frameworks, in promoting sustainable chemical technologies and advancing India’s Net Zero and green energy objectives. It emphasized how robust intellectual property protection can serve as a catalyst for technological advancement, environmental responsibility, and economic prosperity.
The research presentation was highly appreciated for its interdisciplinary approach, policy-oriented legal analysis, and contemporary relevance in aligning legal frameworks with sustainability goals. Adding to this proud moment, the team was conferred the Best Presentation Award at the conference, marking a significant academic accomplishment for the institution.
This collaborative effort reflects Bharath Institute of Law’s commitment to research excellence, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary engagement. The experience enriched the participants’ research acumen, teamwork, and academic communication skills, while contributing meaningfully to discussions on sustainability and green innovation at a national and international academic platform.
