The Faculty Team of Bharath Institute of Law has achieved a significant milestone, showcasing the institution’s strength in research and academic excellence. Assistant Professors Mr. Jeyamurugan S, Mrs. Priyavardhini Aravindan, and Mrs. Kalaimagal V were honoured with the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Cross-Disciplinary Approaches to Trademark Infringement: Legal & Commercial Dimensions, organised by the Department of Labour Law, Saveetha School of Law, on July 12, 2025.
Their paper, titled “When Similarity Becomes Fatal: Trademark Infringement and Patient Safety in the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry,” examined the alarming dangers posed by deceptively similar pharmaceutical trademarks and their consequences on patient safety. Recognised for its originality, analytical depth, and contribution to both legal and healthcare discourse, the research stood out among numerous submissions from reputed institutions across the country.
The conference served as a platform for scholars, legal experts, and academicians to engage in multidisciplinary discussions, bridging intellectual property, commerce, and public welfare. This recognition further cements BIHER’s reputation as a centre for innovative legal research and impactful scholarship, inspiring both faculty and students alike.
The entire BIHER community extends warm congratulations to Mr. Jeyamurugan S, Mrs. Priyavardhini Aravindan, and Mrs. Kalaimagal V, celebrating their achievement and looking forward to their continued contributions to academia and legal scholarship.
