On 26/11/2024, the students of Bharath Institute of Law organized and conducted the Youth Model Parliament, an event that brought together young minds to experience and engage with the legislative process firsthand. This event provided students with a unique opportunity to simulate the functioning of the Indian Parliament, fostering a deeper understanding of the political and legislative processes in the country.
The Hon'ble Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Sholinganallur Constituency graced the event as the Chief Guest. His presence significantly enriched the occasion, as he offered a deeper perspective on the legislative workings and the nature of law-making in the country.
On this special occasion, our esteemed ADR Mr, Hari Prakash and Dean,. Gopal, had the privilege of felicitating the Hon'ble MLA of Sholinganallur Constituency, Mr. S. Aravind Ramesh. This momentous gesture highlighted the significance of the event, as the MLA’s contributions to public service and his insights into the legislative process were celebrated.

The event's format replicated the sessions of the Indian Parliament, where students engaged in meaningful discussions and debates on a wide range of pressing social issues. These issues, carefully selected to reflect the diverse challenges faced by various regions of India, were categorized into different segments for a comprehensive approach. Topics included economic disparities, education, healthcare, environmental concerns, and social justice, among others.
Each student took on the responsibility of introducing these issues on behalf of their assigned constituency, just as MPs do in the real Parliament. The discussions that followed were vibrant and thought-provoking, with students presenting their perspectives and advocating for solutions to the challenges their regions faced. The event also involved calls for votes on various proposals, simulating the actual parliamentary voting process.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. G. Kamaraj, the Hon'ble Deputy Mayor of Tambaram Municipal Corporation, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
