On 26/11/2024, the students of Bharath Institute of Law organized and conducted the Youth Model Parliament, an event that brought together young minds to experience and engage with the legislative process firsthand. This event provided students with a unique opportunity to simulate the functioning of the Indian Parliament, fostering a deeper understanding of the political and legislative processes in the country.
The session commenced with a formal introduction and an outline of the day’s schedule, delivered by the event coordinators. Students then presented a diverse range of bills, covering topics such as education, healthcare, national security, environmental policies, and socio-economic reforms. Engaging in spirited debates, participants passionately defended their positions, presenting well-thought-out arguments and counterarguments in a respectful and democratic manner. These discussions highlighted the importance of critical thinking, effective public speaking, and diplomacy. After the debates, the proposed bills were put to a vote, providing students with a practical understanding of the decision-making process within a parliamentary framework.
