On June 21, 2024, students from Bharath Institute of Law had the unique opportunity to visit the Legislative Assembly, gaining valuable insights into the workings of the legislative body. During the visit, students observed live sessions, witnessing lawmakers engage in debates, discussions, and decision-making processes. This experience allowed them to see how laws are proposed, discussed, amended, and ultimately passed. They also had the chance to interact with legislators, gaining a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in policymaking and the role of law in governance. The visit was an enriching educational experience, bridging the gap between theoretical legal studies and the practical application of law.

The session allowed them to observe the deliberative process, including how bills are introduced, debated, and passed into law. They gained a deeper understanding of parliamentary decorum, the roles of various members, including the Speaker, Chief Minister, and Opposition leaders, and the significance of question hour in holding the government accountable. Students were also introduced to the nuances of drafting and amending legislation, along with the importance of constructive dialogue and dissent in shaping public policy. This experiential learning not only enhanced their theoretical knowledge but also inspired them to appreciate the intricacies of law-making and governance, fostering a greater sense of civic responsibility and engagement.
